墨西拿期（英語：Messinian）是中新世的第六个阶段。其起止时间为7.246百万年前和5.333百万年前。墨西拿期前面是托尔顿期，後面是上新世的赞克尔期。

墨西拿期的名稱Messinian是由瑞士地層學家卡爾·邁爾-艾馬爾（英语：Karl Mayer-Eymar）在1867年命名的^[4]。其名稱源自義大利西西里岛上的城市墨西拿，其中的墨西拿期蒸發岩沉積就是那個時期的產物。

在墨西拿期時，發生了墨西拿鹽度危機，地中海一度變乾，之後海水又重新注入。
