美洲鸽属（學名：Patagioenas），也称新大陆鸽属，是鴿形目鸠鸽科下的一个属。[2]該屬物種均分佈於美洲，目前下屬17個物種。[2]
分類學與歷史
本屬由德國鳥類學家路德維希·賴興巴赫首次於1853年建立，其模式種則被指定為瑞典鳥類學家卡尔·林奈於1758年描述的白顶鸽。[1][3]其屬名Patagioenas是由古希臘語的patageō（意為「喋喋不休」）及oinas（意為「鴿子」）組成。[4]
美洲鸽属與鸽属有著亦分亦合的關係，二者是否为不同的属长期存在争议，但最终其差异被证实，並被拆分為兩個屬。[5][6]現與這個屬關係最為接近的是已經絕滅的旅鴿。[7]
