Modern Children，是於2006年冬天成立的一隊香港獨立搖滾樂隊。現時成員包括Kenneth Tsang、Chih Leung、Tony Leung和隆威。
Modern Children以另類流行和後搖滾音樂為主，有別於傳統搖滾樂隊，除了以結他、低音結他和鼓的演奏外，亦會以不同的樂器演奏，如手風琴、Rainbowbells、弦樂等。
樂隊演出經驗豐富，曾經為The Pancakes作樂手，也多次為海內外著名樂隊作暖場嘉賓，如英國樂隊的The Charlatans、北京樂隊的旅行團等。
名稱
2008年某天的一個樂隊聚會，有成員穿著印有「The Modern」字樣的汗衫，成員皆認為「Modern」這個字很能代表他們喜歡的音樂，並以此當樂隊名。經Google後，發現外國也有一隊樂隊叫「The Modern」，在堅決不放棄此名及避免同名為原則下，決定叫「Modern Children」。加上「Children」一字的原因是樂隊會使用玩具樂器演奏，同時認為要保持童心才能創作出真誠及新穎的音樂。
歷史
第一階段 (2006年 – 2012年)
2006年冬天，結他手Chih Leung 在網路討論區Hong Kong Band Forum中以「玩Indie Pop 音樂」為題招隊員組團。其兄Tony Leung、Kenneth Tsang及Jimmy Cheung先後加入，開始創作音樂。一個多月後，主音Kenneth Tsang 介紹他的朋友蔡世豪 S.T--多媒體電子音樂人[1] 加入Modern Children，他為樂隊音樂加入電子及小提琴元素。五人一拍即合，第一代的Modern Children正式成立。因樂隊其中三人同為結他手，他們會在不同歌曲中分擔低音結他手的角色，所以會在現場演出中常互換位置，這也成為樂隊演出時的一大特色。
2008年，Modern Children被Hong Kong Underground邀請表演，是次也是樂隊的第一次公開演出[2]。2009年， 蔡世豪 (S.T) 推出了他的個人電子大碟 《Weird Mind》。為了能更專注他的個人發展，決定離開樂隊。樂隊成員變為四人陣容。
2010年1月，樂隊被邀請為The Pancakes的《阿戟十週年聯歡音樂會》擔任樂手，同時認識了另一位樂手隆威。完成音樂會後，他決定加入Modern Children。隆威在樂隊中負責低音結他、二胡、小提琴、鍵琴等部分。同年9月，香港獨立樂隊False Alarm 的小提琴手Winnie Lau 隨Modern Children到日本小豆島的《瀬戸內國際芸術祭》中作嘉賓表演。到2010年尾，她決定加入樂隊，並負責小提琴及和唱等崗位。2011年1月，樂隊為由袁智聰舉辦的《公園好聲》表演，是次也是首次以六人組合作第一次的演出。
2011年11月27日，樂隊以iPhone App形式推出首張同名大碟，免費供聽眾們下載。[3] 12月17日，單曲《Mongolia》成為RTHK環球榜Hong Kong Top Ten第十位。直到2012年1月7日，成為環球榜第一位。
2012年1月14日，舉辦Come Come Come Sun 演歌會，同場更推出首張實體CD。同日，《Tree Of Life》在商台903豁達推介歌曲排行榜成為第五位。兩個月後，《Italy Song》成為903豁達推介歌曲排行榜成為第三位。
第二階段 (2013 – 2017) Bittersweet Melodies
2012年9月，Modern Children 參與了The Future Sounds of Hong Kong Music Festival 在香港藝術中心壽臣劇院的演出後暫休，樂隊成員Tony 及Kenneth 離開香港到世界遊歷搜集素材。2014年1月歸隊，準備第二張專輯的創作及製作。
2013年10月，單曲《Dance with me》登陸各大串流平台。

2015年12月，Winnie Lau 離開樂隊。
2016年1月，結他手Jimmy因病離世，樂隊其他成員收拾傷痛的心情，以一曲Jimmy親自填詞的遺作《Bittersweet Memories》悼念亡友。同年4月23日，舉行了Jimmy 燭光紀念晚會，成員們其後收拾心情，完成第二張專輯的製作工作。
Modern Children 透過林一峰的介紹下，決定第二張專輯《Bittersweet Melodies》以眾籌方式在網上集資，並於2016年9月17日以超額50%的成績集齊所需製作成本，多出的製作費用用作到 Abbey Road Studio 作母帶處理。一星期後，《Run Around the World》在RTHK2 Hong Kong Top Ten 環球榜得到第三位 (24/9/2016)。大碟於2016年聖誕期間寄到每位贊助者手上，此碟被扭耳仔仝人評選為《2017最愛本地獨立出品》，當中《Bittersweet Memories》更被Beehype 評選為《 Hong Kong's Best Tracks of 2016》、903豁達堆介No. 10 (25/2/2017)及RTHK2 Hong Kong Top Ten 環球榜第一位 (18/3/2017)。
2017年3月，樂隊繼《Mongolia》後，再次發佈自家製作的動畫MV《Cosmic Wonder》，同年獲得Live Moments 邀請，在地鐵小蠔灣車參與《Cosmic Wonder》的Live Session 拍攝。
第三階段(2017中 – 現在)
Jimmy 的離開對樂隊的影響逐漸浮現，大家開始意興闌珊，2017年尾，大家決定到街頭busking 重捨音樂的感受，用自己音樂跟觀眾再次建立直接的關係，而新的創作亦隨之出現。2018年，獲邀出席Sunset Concert 2018表演，以及港台電視《硬地音樂》的專訪。2018年及2019年專注在創作及製作上，期間出席了Freespace 自由約及Wow and Flutter Live@Home 的演出。2020年1月，宣佈了全新音樂計劃《the colour journey》，計劃包括推出單曲，一連串的小型音樂會 (因疫情關係部份音樂會改為網上直播方式進行) 並與不同音樂單位作不同形式的合作。另外，全新單曲《Guts》於一月尾派台，並找了MV 導演Orange Chan 為新曲創作MV，商台DJ Jacky Lui 為MV演出，得到Hong Kong Top Ten 環球榜第三位 (28/3/2020) 及903 豁達推介第四位(11/4/2020)。
2020年6月15日，Modern Children 再推出單曲《Flightless Bird》並邀請了本地古典音樂團隊《Romer String Quartet》演奏弦樂部份，並於全球各大音樂串流平台同日發佈。同年11月23日，Modern Children 聯同雷同二友的謝芊彤，共同創作了《Summer Day is Gone》，一首輕電子甚重的作品，引用了Jimmy 生前寫下的結他樂句(原為現代舞作品《荒園起舞》的配樂)加以發展，再邀了芊彤填上具詩意的廣東歌詞，MV 更遠赴日本京都拍攝，讓聽眾感受Modern Children 全新的面向。Modern Children 應Freespace邀請，與並《Romer String Quartet》再度合作，製作Instrumental Work 《Seaside Hotel》，並且在2020年底Freespace Mixtape Vol.3 中推出。
2021年，樂隊結他手Chih 結婚，他親手創作的求婚歌成為樂隊在本年度的第一首派台歌，以Shoegazing 的風格，連綿不斷的結他樂句，漸進地進入氣勢磅礡的氛圍，卻含蓄及溫柔地帶出背後的意義，得到了各大媒體的注意。同年6月5日，Modern Children 聯同《Romer String Quartet》在西九文化區留白Live House舉辦了一場《Seaside Live》音樂會，全場座無虛席。
