制作

该项目于2013年开始开发，由亚卓安·林恩执导，福克斯2000电影公司（英语：Fox 2000 Pictures）负责融资。福克斯2000于2018年将版权卖给新摄政。2019年8月，该项目有了新进展；本·阿弗莱克和安娜·德·阿玛斯签约出演，^[3]沃尔特迪士尼工作室电影同意透过旗下的二十世纪福克斯（后更名为二十世纪影业）发行该片^[4]。2019年10月，特雷西·莱特与蕾切尔·布兰查德（英语：Rachel Blanchard）加入演出阵容^[5]。

发行

电影在美国原定于2020年11月13日上映，但由于COVID-19疫情影响，使上映日期推迟至2021年8月13日，并再次推迟至2022年1月。^[4]^[10]后排定于2022年1月14日上映^[11]。2021年12月9日，本片档期撤下^[12]。四天后，据报导，电影将移至美国Hulu独家发行和Amazon Prime Video的国际独家发行^[13]。2022年2月14日，宣布电影定档2022年3月18日上线Hulu^[14]。
