NGC 4309是一個位於室女座的透鏡狀星系，距離地球5500萬光年，屬於室女座星系團，[3]，1881年由天文學家克里斯蒂安·亨利·弗里德里希·彼得斯發現[4][5][6]。NGC 4309 有活動星系核[7]，已經經受過衝壓力[8]。距離星系中心16萬光年內已發現162個球狀星團[9]。
