電子遊戲機
- 9月 － Epoch發行日本首款家用遊戲機TV Tennis Electrotennis。主機最獨特的是支援UHF天線的無線功能[2]。
- 12月 － 雅達利和Tele-Games（ Sears, Roebuck and Company的一個部門）通過西爾斯百貨商店正式發行家用版《乓》[3]。
- 美格福斯發行兩款新型號奧德賽主機：奧德賽100和奧德賽200[1]。
遊戲
- 2月 － Midway在北美以《Wheels》名義，發行西角友宏設計的Taito1974年街機競速遊戲《Speed Race》[4] and Racer.[5]。
- 2月 － 諾蘭·布什內爾建立的Horror Games發行了他們唯一的遊戲《Shark Jaws》，意圖藉助史提芬·史匹堡電影《Jaws》的知名度賺錢[6]。
- Taito發行了最早支援雙人對戰的遊戲《Western Gun''''''''''》[7][8]。遊戲由西角友宏設計，雙玩家各使用兩支八向控制桿，一支移動電腦牛仔在畫面上移動，另一支改變設計方向[9][10]。
- 11月 － Midway發行Taito《Western Gun》的改版《Gun Fight》，是首個基於微處理器的電子遊戲[11]。Taito的《Western Gun》使用TTL構架硬件，而美版由Dave Nutting Associates移植到Intel 8080微處理器[12]。
- Don Daglow在PDP-10上開發早期電子角色扮演遊戲《Dungeon》[13]。
- 威廉·克勞瑟在PDP-10上開發第一款視覺小說遊戲《Adventure》（又名「Colossal Cave」和「Advent」）[14]。
- Rusty Rutherford 在柏拉圖系統上開發最早的迷宮探索遊戲《pedit5》[15]。
- 《dnd》——首款有頭目的電子遊戲，可說是最早的電子角色扮演遊戲——結束了最初開發。部分來源將遊戲歸入1974年；但不清楚遊戲那時是否可玩。
