斑嘴鸭（中国大陆作斑嘴鸭，香港作中华斑嘴鸭，台湾作花嘴鸭）（学名：Anas zonorhyncha）[2][3][4]，别名东方斑嘴鸭、谷鸭、黄嘴尖鸭、火燎鸭，是属于鸭科鸭属的一种鸟类。分布于东亚，共有80-160万只，数量有下跌的趋势。这个物种以前被认为是印度斑嘴鸭的亚种，两者都被称为斑嘴鸭(A. poecilorhyncha)。这个名称源自其嘴上的黄色斑点。
分类
斑嘴鸭在1866年由英国生物学家郇和描述，并使用现在的双名法命名Anas zonorhyncha。[5][6] 属名Anas是拉丁语中鸭的意思。种小名zonorhyncha源自古希腊语词zōnē，意为“带”或“束带”和rhunkhos，意为“嘴”。[7]
历史上，斑嘴鸭通常被认为是印度斑嘴鸭的亚种(A. poecilorhyncha)。美国鸟类学家布拉德利·C·利维齐在1991年发表的对河鸭的形态学研究中提议，应将斑嘴鸭提升为独立物种。[8] 随后，在中国南方香港进行的实地工作发现，虽然斑嘴鸭和印度斑嘴鸭(亚种A. poecilorhyncha haringtoni)在同一地区同时繁殖，但混合配对非常罕见。[9] 基于这一观察，美国鸟类学家联合会在2008年认可斑嘴鸭为独立物种。[10] 现在大多数分类学家都将斑嘴鸭视为独立物种。[11][12][13] 在俄罗斯东部的野外，斑嘴鸭和绿头鸭也存在一定程度的杂交，且雄性斑嘴鸭与雌性绿头鸭配对的比率高于相反情况。[14]
描述
这种鸭的体型与绿头鸭相仿，身体呈鳞状花纹，拥有蓝色的翼镜羽。休息时，长脖子和带有黄色尖端的嘴是其显著特征。它的身长约为55—63 cm（22—25英寸），翼展为83—95 cm（33—37英寸），体重为790—1,500 g（1.74—3.31磅）。[15][16] 主要为灰色，头部和脖子较淡，嘴巴黑色，尖端亮黄色。翅膀呈白色，下方有黑色飞羽，从上面看则有白边绿色。雄性没有换羽期羽毛。幼鸭比成鸭颜色更棕、更暗淡。腿和脚为亮橙色。[17]
斑嘴鸭比印度斑嘴鸭更暗更棕，其体羽更类似于太平洋黑鸭。它缺乏红色嘴斑，且拥有蓝色的翼镜。[17][18]
雄性和雌性都会经历完全的繁殖后换羽，同时掉落所有的飞羽。[17]
分布
斑嘴鸭是候鸟，分布地区包括中国大陆、香港、澳门、台湾、日本、韩国、朝鲜、蒙古、俄罗斯。在中国南方和可能的东南亚过冬。非繁殖季节，它们非常合群，形成小群体。自20世纪初以来，日本和俄罗斯远东地区的种群其分布范围向北扩展了超过500公里，可能是对全球变暖的反应。[14]
它是生活在淡水湖泊和沼泽中的鸟类，主要在傍晚或夜间啄食植物食物。繁殖季节随降雨和水况而变化，但通常在4月至7月之间。它在水边植被中地面筑巢。每窝通常有7-9个蛋。[11] 孵化在最后一颗蛋产下后开始（以让小鸭同时孵化），大约24天后孵出。小鸭黑色，背部黄色，与绿头鸭的相似，但眼纹更宽。[11]
雄鸭和雌鸭的叫声类似于绿头鸭，雌鸭发出响亮的叫声，雄鸭则发出较低沉、较安静的声音。
