尼科巴語支 |
尼科巴語支是由不到十種密切相關語言組成的南亞語系分支,由印度尼科巴群島大多數原住民使用。共有約3萬使用者(2.21萬本地人)。尼科巴語支使用者最多的是卡爾尼科巴語。Paul Sidwell(2015:179)[2]認為尼科巴語支與亞斯里語支組成一個分支。
尼科巴語支似乎與大尼科巴島原住民使用的尚朋語有關(Blench & Sidwell 2011),一般認為後者在南亞語系中自成一支。[3]Paul Sidwell(2017)[4]將尚朋語劃入南尼科巴語支。
尼科巴語支語言的形態特徵與南島語系很像,被作為南方大語系假說的證據(Reid 1994)。[5]
