Actions taken:

  • All accounts in Group 1 and 2 are tagged and blocked infinitely.
  • The conclusion "likely" between Group 1 and 2 will be treated as "confirmed" as what strong editing behaviors suggest.
  • Among these accounts, the one registered the earliest is 保良局李城璧馬戲團, but it was already determined to be a sock of 荃劇馬戲團 by other admins based on behavioral evidence, while 荃劇馬戲團 did not appear in the checkuser result. Thus the main account of these socks should be 荃劇馬戲團.
  • Group 3 is unrelated to Group 1 and 2 based on behavior. Since there doesn't seem to be any clear vandalism going on within Group 3, I will not perform any action before discussing it. It appears that Group 3 is just a bunch of randomly selected usernames making minor edits.

Questions raised:

  • Account 那個四趴黨已經沒用了 appeared twice in the result.
  • Maybe check 荃劇馬戲團 since it did not appear in the checkuser result and see if we could uncover more sleepers.
  • Though accounts in Group 3 are very suspicious, they are not related to Group 1/2 based on their behavior. I am thinking about what could lead to this checkuser result -
    • Maybe all accounts in Group 3 are using the same VPN, giving they are all in the same group. It is common for several users to share the same IP range, but in this case, usernames in Group 3 are selected randomly with no reference to anything Chinese (with expectations to those accounts that are "possible" to Group 3).
    • As MCC214 suggests, very few accounts in Group 3 were blocked for vandalism behavior. None of them were granted the IP Block Exemption flag. Maybe steward could lock the IP address they are all editing on (if a block is suited for this situation), then Oversight the corresponding log - a common tactic at lease we used to do on zhwiki. This would be the most ideal solution as it will force them to apply for IPBE individually, which is subject to sysops' review, and avoid the Group 3 sockpuppeteer from mass-registering new accounts again.
    • I am also curious what is the link between Group 1/2 and 3. Like, one of the socks in Group 1/2 has shared the same IP address with Group 3? Are VPNs widely used within Group 1 and 2?

真是一筐大魚，看來一個新的LTA就要這麼誕生了。我沒有特別細看這個使用者的編輯傾向，但看起來，這個使用者所控制的部分帳號被用來從事擦邊球和破壞性編輯，而部分帳號則從事可以接受的編輯。深藏不露啊。這些的使用者名稱和編輯傾向很有特點，以後可以duck不少。

@Techyan：有關查核結果出現重複帳號的問題，我問了Sotiale，他說同一group里出現相同的帳號可以直接忽略，為查核起橋梁的作用。我覺得把很可能 很可能弄成 已確認可以用行為方式來解釋，不需拘泥於CU結果。最重要的是你在這發英文，不會英文的看不懂，會英文的監管員也很少來。--Super Wang※DC不是貪食蛇，請勿盲目刷分 2020年8月27日 (四) 04:50 (UTC)[回覆]
