本过程主要述说如何增进童军专题内影像的品质，以及确保童军影像符合维基百科的合理使用方针。过去，这些影像在命名、大小与品质方面没有通用的标准。如果影像受到背景、影像倾斜、授权与其他问题的影响，将会造成整体文章品质下滑。

维基百科不是一个布章影像的收藏库，且不允许相关的非自由影像“画廊”。

再使用影像

当您上传影像时，每一位编辑者都要明了，这些影像可能会被其他编辑者以其他理由重复使用。如果您的影像上传至维基共享资源，则会被任何人重复利用到任何网站上，且不能限制这样的使用行为。

青少年保护

当您上传关于青少年的影像时，每位编辑者应当了解青少年在各国与各地方的法律，以及其国家童军组织的相关规定。这些法律与规定可能不会特别针对这类影像的发布做出具体规范。编辑者必须记住，有关国家与组织可能不会想要将这类影像以自由授权的方式释出。

美国童军

“童军安全守则：在童军活动中保护青少年”没有规范影像。依据“理事会网站管理员资源”规定，每个理事会都能够发布规范，规定影像发布至理事会、区与童军团网站的行为；美国童军官方唯一的建议是不得在影像中显示青少年的姓名。

建议

  • 不要标示青少年的姓名；此规范在各国与地区可能有不同的规定。
  • 在维基共享资源，请在影像中标示{{personality rights}}并加上[1]等类似的声明。其范例可参考：File:ScoutFun.png。
  • 如果您觉得您所要使用的影像不希望被其他人再利用，建议您不要上传它。

品质

  • 动态性：在适当的场合底下，影像应当要呈现动态性。童军成员在活动或游戏的影像，远比没有人的建筑物或故意摆姿势拍摄的影像更有影响力。
  • 尺寸：
    • 一般来说，要合理使用非自由影像，其宽度应当在140或280像素，也就是符合{{Infobox WorldScouting}}模板的标准尺寸；请注意大型图像可能会违反合理使用方针中的低解析度要求。
    • 自由版权影像档案应当尽可能的大，或储存为SVG档案，MediaWiki可以将影像转成任何大小，有助于大型影像的重复使用。
    • If the image is a group of multiple images, then the largest image should be 140px wide with the other images sized proportionally
    • When a series of multiple images are to be used together, the sizes should vary from this standard so that the images are proportional, but the smallest image should not exceed 140px wide
    • Related insignia should be presented in a single image; an award that is presented as a medal and a patch should be one image; an award that is presented in various types should be one image
  • 影像背景应当为白色，任何因扫描等人为因素所造成的背景应当要去除。
  • 多个影像排列时必须要呈直线，影像视窗排列时必须呈现水平或垂直平行。
  • 如果要采用透明背景，推荐采用PNG或SVG档案格式。

命名

  • 影像的命名应当采用能符合影像所述事件、组织或奖项的合适名称，并尽量避免不常见的缩写。举例：Cole Canoe Base.png应避免缩写成Ccb.png。
  • 系列影像应当采用常见的命名格式。举例：Eagle Scout badge (type 1).png、Eagle Scout badge (type 2).png、Eagle Scout badge (type 3).png。
  • 对于标志来说，其影像必须能描述当前的版本。旧版本标志只能用于描述其主题的历史；使用时必须在档案名称上反应出时间与版本名称。举例：File:BSA 2002-2005 Strategic Plan.png。

非自由使用

非自由标志

  • A current logo inherently illustrates the organization, award or the like and does not require any commentary, although such commentary may certainly be included.
  • Non-free logos must have content related to the organization and may not be used in list articles, lists within articles, navigational boxes, or galleries in articles or categories.
  • Historical logos should not be used simply to show that an organization was active at a certain period; there must be explicit content on the logo.
Rule of thumb: If the organization does not have an article or a paragraph in an article, don't upload related logos.

  • 邮票、杂志或电影海报影像，其叙述应当包含讨论该影像本身的内容。

版权

非自由标志

合理使用应当只能在无法找到替代的自由影像时才能采用。一般来说，标志、布章、奖章等版权所有物或其衍伸作品，皆适用于上述状况。

  • 当您上传以后，请在该影像加上{{Non-free Scout logo}}模板，这可以将该影像放入适当的分类。
    • 美国童军的影像应当使用适合的扩展模板来放入适合的次分类。
  • 所有无法替代的免费使用影像，应附上合理使用理据。

其他非自由影像

  • 由于这类非童军标志的模板，不会自动加入某一个现存的分类当中，因此必须在影像描述中加入适合的分类。

所有的非自由影像应附上理据，以证明这些影像符合合理使用规范。

自由影像不需要理据，但应在影像中包含相关资讯。

更新与废除图像

如果某个影像已经替换成更新后的版本，旧有影像应当要废除：

  • 如果新影像使用的是旧影像的档案名称，只要开启旧影像然后选择“上传此档案的新版本”。该影像将会保留原来的档案描述与授权条款，并可根据需要更新这些内容。所有使用此档案的页面也将会同步更新。
  • 如果新影像使用不同的档案名称，请将旧有的影像废除：
    • 上传新影像。
    • 将所有使用旧影像的页面替换成新影像。
    • 使用{{Obsolete|<影像名稱>}}标明旧有的自由影像，“影像名称”参数为新影像名称。
    • 使用{{Delete|F6}}标明旧有的合理使用影像。

Often, it is desired to group a number of images. In the past, tables were used to perform such grouping. Tables require repetitive wikicode and may be esoteric to some editors. They also require the use of breaks to keep them in proper alignment. {{Multiple image}} has been developed to resolve these issues and to ease the inclusion of images in this manner.
